Kathryn Nourse Seidel

Kathryn Nourse Seidel, of Fort Worth, TX, passed away at her home on August 16, 2016.  Kathie was born on Dec. 23, 1947, in Oneida, New York to the late Richard Charles Nourse and “Teenie” Daniel Nourse.  At the age of a year and a half, the family moved to Greenville, Ms. where she spent her formative years, graduating from Greenville High School in 1966. Kathie earned Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Education from Mississippi State University. Her career path included teaching as a special educator in New Orleans, La., Jackson, Ms., and finally the Fort Worth area, where she also served as an instructor in English as a Second Language.  Kathie also worked for over twenty years in educational sales.
Kathie was a tireless advocate for the unmet needs of children and the developmentally disabled, especially the advancement of equal rights and opportunities for people with developmental disabilities. In 1999 she received the McKay Award for her efforts to assist families of adopted children struggling with attachment disorder. 
She was preceded in death by a son, Brian Peets. She is survived by her children, Katia Ellen Seidel of Fort Worth and Gregory P. (Stephanie) Seidel of Fort Worth, a brother Richard (Jan) Nourse of Lake Dallas, and three nieces, Emily Nourse of Nashville, Tn., Erin (Ben) Nourse of Englewood, Co., and Jing (Darius Nickleson) Nourse of Lewisville, Tx.
Kathie will be remembered as a compassionate and genuine person who was supportive of friends and family. Her love and influence will remain with those whose lives she touched.

Johnny Blanks

After reading Kathy's obituary, it's understandable that her death leaves a huge hole in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. What a legacy she leaves. Thanks for sharing. John Blanks class of 65.
