Diane Dawkins (Chunn)

Diane Dawkins (Chunn)

(Frances) Diane Dawkins Chunn passed away on the morning of February 1st, 2023. She was a mother, a grandmother, a great-grandmother and a companion. She was a healer, an artist, a teacher, a confidant, and a guide.

She was a special soul—one that touched many lives.

We will have a gathering at Southern Prohibition Brewery in Hattiesburg on Sunday, February 12th at 1 pm. We will laugh, cry and reminisce. Food and drink will be provided. Dress is casual and all are welcome.

I am heartbroken to learn of Diane's passing.  She was an amazing person and classmate.  She and I had bonded over the last 20 years over our mutual interest in photography.  When Gerry Ann was sick in 2020 Diane checked on her and me routinely and always had optimistic and inspirational words.  She will be greatly missed.  Gerry Ann and I send our condolences and prayers to her husband David and her entire extended family.

I'm also very sorry to hear about Diane's passing.  We liked each other in high school, and then didn't see each other for many years until my first class reunion, the 40th.  She was so warm and friendly and simpatico, it felt like we'd always stayed in touch.  I admired Diane and was glad that she had a long and happy marriage with David.  This is just a sad loss for her family and all her friends.
