Funeral services for Wendell Dennis Frazier, 66, of Greenville, will be at 3 p.m. Monday at Smith Funeral Home. He died Friday, March 22, 2013, at Central Mississippi Medical Center, Jackson. Visitation will be from 1-3 p.m. Monday at Smith Funeral Home. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery. Frazier was born Feb. 19, 1947, in Lake Providence, La., to Jay and Emma Frazier. He moved to Greenville at an early age, where he grew up and attended school and graduated from Greenville High School in 1966. He played football at Greenville High School and Mississippi Delta Junior College. He was a U.S. Air Force Veteran and was stationed in Austin, Texas. Upon returning to Greenville, he went to work for K-Mart, where he worked for 30 years and was often referred to as "the man with the white hair and beard." He was a throat cancer survivor, having received treatment at M.D. Anderson in 2002. He worked hard to maintain good health and a happy disposition throughout his illness. He was an avid gardener. He enjoyed playing tennis and watching baseball. He and his schnauzer dogs, Bonnie and Alex, spent much time their flower gardens. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Lawrence Frazier and Jay "Bubba" Frazier Jr. He was happily married to his wife, Debbie Frazier, of Greenville, for 37 years. They were blessed with one daughter, Amanda Frazier, of Reno, Nev. He will be greatly missed by his brothres, Wayne (Annie) Frazier and George Frazier, both of Greenville, and Bruce (Inga) Frazier, of Tarpon Springs, Fla.; three sisters, Ola Mae (Grady) Moore, of Midway, Ky., Mary Jo (E.D.) Hutson, of Shreveport, La., and Sharon (Wayne) Martin, of Little Rock, Ark. Joel Henderson will officiate the services.
